About Zesty Nutrition

Hello! I’m Sara, proud owner of Zesty Nutrition. I am an anti-diet dietitian who believes in compassionate, inclusive care. My professional philosophy is centered around intuitive eating, body acceptance, and weight-inclusive care, because I believe that all people deserve to heal their relationship with food, body, and mind.

My goal with Zesty Nutrition is simple yet powerful: to empower you and help you rediscover your innate trust in your body. In a world that often undermines this trust, I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where everyone can embrace the concept of health at every size (HAES). I celebrate body diversity and advocate for radical self-compassion for all.

Zesty nutrition is a neurodivergent-affirming, queer-affirming, fat-positive practice that recognizes the inequities too often experienced by those with marginalized identities.

We all deserve food freedom

If you’re here, I would bet that you’ve struggled with your relationship with food, body image, or feeding yourself independently.

Well guess what? I have had those struggles too! I grew up surrounded by diet culture, weight-centric ideals, and the belief that I should never, under any circumstances, take up too much space in the world. I frequently felt like I was not good enough, small enough, put together enough. Add to that the fact that I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 17 and given zero education on how that impacted my existence in the world, and it’s no surprise that I ended up with a pretty disordered relationship with food.

I feel that part of my purpose in this world is to support individuals who are going through difficulties with food and body. I want give others what I was unable to give myself.

My particular areas of interest are: ADHD, autism, eating disorders, disordered eating, intuitive eating, and cultural food traditions, especially Jewish ones. As an ADHDer myself – one who has had to do much work to recover my own relationship with food in the context of body image, disordered eating, and Jewish food rituals – I am intimately aware of the struggles that neurodivergence and society can cause when it comes to food and eating behaviors. Therefore, I recognize that the needs of neurodivergent-identifying individuals are different from those of the general population, and I aim to provide care that is informed by the unique needs and lived experiences of each individual client.

I hold a Master’s of Science in Nutrition from Bastyr University. Currently, I live in Seattle, Washington, with my husband, an overflowing bookshelf, and a variety of houseplants. When I’m not helping my clients journey through the world of intuitive eating, you may find me hiking in the mountains of Washington, taking self-portraits, snuggling up with a good book, or enjoying a bowl of pesto pasta.

I work with ages 15+ and am currently accepting new clients.
